Following a thorough examination of the Home Produced Pony Breeding Championship at the 2008 Summer Championship Show, the National Pony Society has confirmed that the Championship was awarded to Bankswood Mimosa (owned by Mrs A R Clarke) during the afternoon judging, which was made public at the time.

However, the original judge was not present at the evening presentation, and due to NPS administrative errors, the Champion and Reserve positions were reversed.

At a meeting at the NPS offices in Alton on 7th May 2009, the findings of the NPS investigation were discussed with Mr E T Clarke and he, on behalf of his team, has fully accepted the explanation given by the NPS.  It has been agreed that two Championship Awards should be given for the 2008 Competition.

NPS Chairman Lady Margaret Benton-Jones has apologised to Mr Clarke on behalf of the Society, which he has accepted.
