For a couple of years, friends of mine had been telling me about an Australian horseman who comes over to England each summer and teach. Last year I had a few days off, and having so much about him, curiosity overcame me and I decided it as worth a gamble to book a few Ryanair flights and head over to somewhere south east of Gatwick airport. After a lot of confusion in a small hire car belting down strange looking roads in Sussex, I eventually pulled up at the yard in question. I parked and wandered in, and spent one of the most enjoyable and education weekends listening as an Australian who rode like he was born to be on a horse, created a fantastic relaxed learning environment where everywhere you looked people were improving before your eyes and the horses were just doing some phenomenal work. It was my first time meeting Steve, and I was just blown away by how he quietly and gently guided people along resulting in some of the happiest riders and horses I'd seen in a good while. Last summer I headed back again to watch another clinic (I couldn't get Ozzie past airport security sadly so he had to stay at home), and once again, I learned heaps and all the riders & horses made huge improvements over the few days.

This summer, Steve and Irena will be coming over to Ireland to teach. I'm so excited to have someone with such an incredible level of horsemanship and teaching will be a real treat. Ozzie has already been booked in for one of the clinics, but I won't tell you which one!.. so you might get to meet him in person if you're lucky! :) You don't need to be at any specific level to ride, just come along with your horse and be prepared to learn! Below are the date & locations. Stabling is available at each venue for a limited numbers of horses at €15 per night, straw & hay included.

If you've any questions, email the office, write to Elaine Heney, Irish Horsemanship, Grove, Kilfeacle, Tipperary or tel 087 2877605. Booking forms are available on http://www.irishhorsemanship.com/
