16th April 2010 - NPS RULES changes effective immediately.

OLYMPIA    NPS/Baileys Horse Feeds   M&M Supreme Ridden Championship

URGENT:  Amendment to the 2010 Showing and Competition Rules

After thorough discussion and consideration for the current contract negotiations with Olympia, the best interests of the NPS and the Native Breeds, the NPS Council at its meeting on 15th April 2010 made the following decision with immediate effect:

To amend the NPS 2010 Showing and Competition Rules as follows:

That Rule D 1b) be amended to read:

"b) Rider any age, except Stallions (see rules in section A 3.2)."

In the interest of clarity this means the following wording should be considered deleted with immediate effect:

"A rider may only qualify one pony for the M&M Supreme Ridden (Olympia) Pony of the Year final at Olympia. Once a rider has qualified a pony then he/she can not ride other ponies in Olympia qualifying rounds in that year. (N.B. The rider who qualifies the pony must ride it in the final at Olympia unless there are special circumstances and a change of rider is agreed by the NPS Competitions Committee)."

 Peter M. Durrant, Chief Executive.
