Membership of the NPS
If you join the National Pony Society you will be a member of one of the oldest established breeding societies in the world.
Membership for 2010
The NPS membership year runs from January to December.
Please renew your membership via the website if you can, this is efficient for us and quick for you. (We are sorry but people with Family Membership can't renew via the website.)
Renewal forms were sent out with the Autumn /Winter Newsletter before Christmas. You can also renew by calling the office with a credit/debit card.
The NPS Review is being sent out as people renew for 2010.
New Council Members 2010
There have been eight nominations for the five new members of Council required for 2010. Please vote for your Council members. The voting paper has been sent out to all members with the details of the 2010 AGM but can also be download here. Please note that completed voting papers should be sent to Stewart and Co (address as on the voting paper) not to the NPS office. Voting papers will also be sent to Members with the notice of the AGM. Results will be reported at the NPS AGM on 13th March 2010.
Spring 2009 Newsletter - Many thanks to Ann Nicholls who compiled this newsletter.Members enjoy the following benefits:
Information: Members receive regular newsletters informing them of up and coming events and keeping them updated on the affairs of the Society. There is a special Members Area on the website where members can see the minutes of NPS committee meetings, vote on key aspects and contribute to the Members Forum.
Showing: Affiliated shows hold qualifying rounds for the NPS competitions throughout the year. The owner of the pony must be an NPS member to qualify for the finals of the Summer Competitions which are held at the NPS Summer Championship Show. However, the owner doesn't need to be a member for the pony to qualify for the finals of the Winter Competitions which are held at the NPS Spring Festival. The owner needs to be a Showing Member for the pony to enter the final. Showing Members pay reduced entry fees for classes at the two NPS shows. Showing members also receive a free subscription to Showing World magazine, which is sent to them by post.
Breeding: Breeder members of the NPS pay reduced fees for registration and passport related transactions. Owners must be Breeder Members to license stallions through the NPS as well as to advertise and stand NPS licensed stallions at stud.
Events: The NPS holds events, such as conferences and study days, to which Members are invited. These are held throughout the year and at a variety of locations.
NPS Area Organisation: Membership of the central NPS organisation automatically includes membership of your local NPS Area. Some Areas charge a Membership Fee but this is entirely up to each individual area. Usually this can be offset by lower entry fees to their Area Show.
Judges: People on the NPS Judges Panels must be NPS Members. There is a special reduced rate Associate Membership for Judges who do not need all of the other benefits.
